Finally went and designed a dragon form for my character Sterling (he is technically a dragon with a people form). The original dragon form wasn’t nearly as uh. creative. Here’s what it looked like (drawn by Takesu). If you wanna read me talking forever about the species HERE I GO
They’re a brutish sort of dragon so I went with a brutish form. Based on gorillas and rhinos, they’ve got really thick skin coated with stone (this stone coating chips away at joints and sites of impact, but regrows over time) and their bones are made of a sort of bio-steel.
Of course, this means their bodies are INCREDIBLY HEAVY; they can’t lift their tails so they usually just drag along behind them. The stone club on the end grows forever and the size of one’s club acts as a symbol of strength. Sometimes they break in fights or are purposefully broken when they begin to hinder movement (this one is busted off and some tail bone is showing like in Sterling’s human form but I’ve since done away with the tail bone being that long because WHY). Some particularly old dragons will start growing crystals on their hides and clubs.
They walk on their knuckles but I accidentally drew this guy leaning on the backs of his hands (ow what the hell). Females are slightly bigger than the males and have horns on their heads. Avg size of a male is around 9’ tall at the shoulder.
I’ve kinda been playing around with the idea of having the steel bones protrude from the skin at certain points, like elbows and knuckles and knees and stuff. Idk, it sounds cool but it might just look gross, haha. Anyway I got distracted and now I can’t think of anything else SO THERE YOU GO
Apollo is the best villager, accept no cranky substitute.
Another commission for my bud of her (now) orc hunter Kiye! Couple of things here that I dorked up but I’m just gonna have to remember them for next time. >:V
